Allied Door and Hardware Co. has been synonymous with the door and hardware industry since 1977. 1. What is the difference in Overhead Door Company of Brevard and Allied Door & Hardware Co.?

Overhead Door Company is a Division of Allied Door & Hardware Company. Overhead Door handles residential and commercial garage door products and services. Allied Door handles swing door products and services.

2. I see other door companies calling themselves Overhead Door Company, are they part authorized Overhead Door Distributors?

Not unless they display the Red Ribbon. True Overhead Door Distributors will be displaying the Red Ribbon. Dealing with a Red Ribbon Overhead Door Distributor guarantees you professional training and ethics.

3. Can I change the code on my keypad?

4. Is there a troubleshooting guide for my Overhead Door operator on the web site?

6. What type of operators do you have?

Check the Residential Products… Garage Door Openers section of our website which you can access from the list on the left.

7. Can I talk to a technician over the phone?

Our service technicians are in the field repairing doors and operators. Unfortunately they are not available to take a phone call. Please try your question by calling our service department at 321.639.0480.

8. I think I need a new receiver for my garage door opener. Is this a do-it-yourself project?

If you are handy and comfortable working from a ladder, it may be possible to replace your receiver and transmitter yourself. There are a few exceptions, so please call or E-mail our office for up-to-date information.

9. I know Overhead Door of Brevard will give free estimates on new/replacement doors and openers. Can we get an estimate on service?

Because service and repair work involves a site inspection by a qualified field technician, we do charge a service fee to diagnose equipment problems.

10. Do the technicians carry the parts I may need on their trucks?

Our Overhead Door and Allied Door service trucks stock a large number of parts on their trucks.  It is quite possible that we will have the part you need without making a second trip.

11. Do you take credit cards or personal checks?

Yes.  We accept cash, checks, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover credit cards.

12. My transmitter will open the door, but when I try to close the door it only goes about 6 inches and then reverses. What is wrong?

There are a few possible things that might prevent your door from closing after you have opened it.  Most commonly, the photo cells are out of alignment or there is an obstruction in the way of the photo cell safety beam.

13. How do I reset my operator?

Although most operators do not have a reset button on them, it sometimes helps to unplug the unit, wait 60 seconds, and plug it back in (sometimes this will allow the internal computer chip to re-cycle itself).

14. What is included in a Tune-up Special?

A tune-up special includes complete inspection and lubrication of all moving parts (i.e. springs, rollers, hinges, cables, pulleys, drive mechanisms) on up to two single car doors or one double car door, and the attached motor operators. Also included is any adjustments needed and tightening of any loose hardware. Replacement parts and accessories are available at an additional cost.

15. What is your Warranty?

New doors and motor operators are covered by a minimum one year warranty on material and workmanship.  Some door and operators have extended material warranties beyond the first year.  Service and repair work warranties are 90-days on parts and 30-days on labor.

17. Are senior discounts available?

Yes, we offer a 5% senior discount by request.

18. Can I talk to a sales person?

Sure.  All our showrooms have experienced and knowledgeable sales people waiting to answer your calls.

20. How soon can I have service?

If you call before 12 noon, we can have a service truck to your house the same day!

21. What kind of doors and operators do you repair?

We repair all brands of doors and motor operators, including residential and commercial entry doors and automatic doors.

22. Do you sell Entry doors, Patio doors, Windows?

Yes, we do, call for a free replacement estimate.

23. Do you carry Door Hardware?

Yes, we carry a full line of residential and commercial door hardware.

24. Do you carry Hurricane and Windload doors?

Yes, we carry swinging and overhead doors that meet windload requirements.

25. Are you a My Safe Florida Home contractor?

Yes, we are a certified installer, meeting eligibility for Safe Home Grants from the State of Florida.

26. Can I buy a new clicker/remote at your store?

Yes. Our showrooms carry an extensive selection of transmitters for garage doors openers.  If your transmitter is no longer supported by the original equipment manufacturer, we can usually provide an after-market alternative.

27. Will you mail a new remote to me?

Sure. We can ship a new transmitter (or any other parts) to any address.

28. Do you have service available on Saturday?

Not at this time, our service hours are Monday- Friday 7:30 – 4:00.

29. So you are an Overhead Door Company. What else do you do?

We offer a broad range of products for any opening in your home are business including entry doors, overhead doors, patio doors, hardware, security doors, industrial doors, sound doors, hurricane doors, bullet resistant doors, automatic doors, electronic access control and service the products we sell.

30. How qualified and trained are your service technicians?

Our service technicians are highly trained professionals that are employed exclusively by us (we don’t use “subs”- we only use our own employees).

31. If I am thinking of building a new home. When should I contact you?

The sooner the better. We can help you select which products are best for you and help you with the dimensions.
